It was a long and HOT day on the field but these girls battled through the heat and landed #1 seed in the gold bracket. Going 3-1 for the day finishing second out of 10 teams.

So proud of the girls growth this year and especially their solid defense. Hard work pays off and looking forward to the rest of the 2025 season!

Both teams were strong in the circle on Saturday, but Bladen County Starz 14u defeated Riptide 14u- Elite 3-0. Kenzie Jackson started the game for Bladen County Starz 14u and recorded nine outs.

Bladen County Starz 14u got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Serenity Schmieder laid down a sacrifice bunt, and Jackson was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run.

Bladen County Starz 14u added one run in the second after Bladen County Starz 14u scored on a wild pitch.

Jackson earned the win for Bladen County Starz 14u. The starting pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out three and walking one. Meera Gupta took the loss for Riptide 14u- Elite. The starter went four innings, surrendering three runs on three hits, striking out two and walking two. Breelyn Peed collected the save.

Payton Eyl led Bladen County Starz 14u with two hits in two at bats from the leadoff position. Schmieder and Jackson each drove in one run for Bladen County Starz 14u.

Emerson Sterling-Haney went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Riptide 14u- Elite in hits. Riptide 14u- Elite were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Nadina Feduk made the most plays with five.

Bladen County Starz 14u defeated Shockers 14U 10-1 on Saturday at 1002 Dogwood Dr thanks in part to six runs in the second inning. Breelyn Peed drew a walk, scoring one run, Serenity Schmieder was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Kenley Smeigh grounded out, scoring one run, Haley Gantt drew a walk, scoring one run, Kenzie Jackson drew a walk, scoring one run, and Abigail Dicicco drew a walk, scoring one run.

Bladen County Starz 14u got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Peed singled, scoring one run, Smeigh doubled, scoring two runs, and Kimberlin Barnes grounded out, scoring one run.

Jackson earned the win for Bladen County Starz 14u. The hurler surrendered two hits and one run over two and one-third innings, striking out five and walking two. M Parker took the loss for Shockers 14U. The pitcher went one inning, allowing nine runs on five hits, striking out none and walking four. Peed collected the save.
